North Mississippi Artists

An Internet resource of Mississippi artists.

 

On October 16, 2007, several artists from North Mississippi met at the the MAC Arts Means Business Seminar at the Gum Tree Museum in downtown Tupelo. A suggestion came up that we should have a method for contacting each other once the meeting was over, and this web site was offered. We have below a link to a contact sheet; if you would like your information posted, please contact us.
What this site becomes is up to you. We can post artists' statements, photos, even works for sale (but sales need to be redirected to you personally through email or a PayPal account - we want no commission). We will set up basic pages for you, although coding help is appreciated! (There are a few scripts we do not want run on our server, but HTML is basically OK.)
We would also love to post events here, especially those for artists. If you want we can set up a listserve or bulletin board. We can even have these pages password protected so only members can see the information. Let us know!
And what do we get out of this? Ten years ago we moved back up to north Mississippi and could find almost no artists to talk to. If this site works, we will know what is happening. And other artists who move to the area can find us more easily.
Life without artists is boring.
